Polysciences launches its new bioprocessing brand, Kyfora Bio, which will focus on the synthesis of cationic polymers, lipids and other materials used in nucleic acid delivery for cell and gene therapy.

Ethos Biosciences is formed with acquisition of the Exocell product line from Glycadia Pharmaceuticals (est. 1988). Ethos continues to develop ELISA kits under the Exocell brand, which are used to further nephrology research with an emphasis on diabetes-associated kidney disease.

Bangs Labs launches Magnefy™, a new magnetic particle for nucleic acid isolations, adding to the already established BioMag® and other magnetic particle offerings.
2015
Astral Diagnostics Inc. (est. 1999) joins the Ott group family of companies, expanding capabilities in dyes, stains and reagents for histology, hematology and cytology for clinical and veterinary medical markets.
2013
ISO 13485 quality management certification as achieved by Polysciences, Inc. for the design, manufacture and packaging of dye and chemical solution stains, general purpose reagents, and specialty chemicals and finished components used in medical applications.

Polysciences Asia-Pacific is established in Taipei, Taiwan to provide sales and technical support to specialty chemical customers throughout Asia.
2005
Dionis, with its goat milk-based soap and lotion products, is acquired. Based in Charlottesville, VA the former Polysciences customer becomes part of the family of companies and provides a gateway into consumer products.
2004
Dream Cosmetics (Chatham, VA) is acquired, increasing existing capabilities to formulate and manufacture private-label products for the cosmetic and personal care industries.
2003
Bangs Laboratories, Inc. (est. 1988), a manufacturer of microsphere-based reagents and analytical instrument calibrators, is acquired. This doubles the size of the Polysciences microparticle business and provides additional contract manufacturing capability for our customers developing diagnostic assays and life sciences instrumentation.
1993
Polysciences experiences steady organic and strategic growth, expanding from 50 employees and 40,000 ft2 to more than 175 employees and 250,000 ft2 of laboratory, manufacturing and administrative spaces that support product development, formulation and manufacturing. Polysciences has continued to build upon their foundational expertise in electron microscopy stains and resins to become an industry leader in the synthesis of fine chemicals and reagents for diagnostics, medical device, biopharma, electronics and technology sectors.
1993
After spending 15 years in 6 locations with Rohm and Haas, Michael Ott joins Polysciences in 1985. He purchases the company in 1993 and establishes Polysciences Europe, GmbH soon thereafter to expand Polysciences’ supply of highly specialized chemicals to companies throughout Europe.
1979
Polysciences’ successful development of a large-scale process for the isolation of taxol from T. brevifolia crude biomass for its first use in a clinical trial by the NCI. The compound is now commonly used to treat a range of solid tumor cancers.
1971
A Polysciences’ catalog of products is published including Polymer Research, Life Sciences, Electron Microscopy and Biomedical Applications sections.
1963
After starting the company in his garage in Rydal, PA, rapid growth forces Dr. Halpern to move the operation to a local storefront in a mall in Huntingdon Valley, PA.
1961
Polysciences, Inc. is established by B. David Halpern to supply ultrapure reagents to the growing electron microscopy market, due to the commercial availability of transmission electron microscopes and associated instrumentation, fixatives and resins.
